First C-Series Fuselage Arrives at Bombardier

CSeries fuselage test barrel arrives at Bombardier

The first fuselage test barrel for the CSeries has been delivered to Bombardier's Saint-Laurent, Quebec facility. The test barrel represents the aircraft's main fuselage section. The aluminum alloy construction, which is approximately seven metres (23ft) long and has a maximum diameter of approximately 3.7m (12ft), was built by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, a unit of China Aviation Industry. The Asian partner firm is to manufacture just over 10 per cent of CSeries. The shipment left Dalian, China, on July 20, 2009, travelled across the Pacific and then approximately 4000km (2,500m) from California to Quebec.
